Future Global Leaders on-campus

UBC Future Global Leaders is an opportunity to try academic courses and mini schools taught by UBC professors and affiliated instructors. Choose from popular subjects including Business and Economics, Engineering and Technology, Health and Life Sciences, Media and Fine Arts, History, Law, and Politics, and People, Culture and Society. All courses are taught at a first-year level – without the exams.  

2024 Courses

*Academic courses include classroom activities from 9am-12noon and university preparation workshops and study periods from 1-3pm. Mini schools include classroom activities from 9am-3pm and on-demand access to online university preparation materials. 

1. Watch our Registration tips video. Make sure you meet the eligibility requirements. Please read carefully our refund and cancellation policies. 
2. Register by choosing a Future Global Leaders course or mini school and select Residence Option or Commuter Option in your cart. Pay a $500 CAD deposit, or pay in full.  
3. Check your email for important details confirming your registration and payments.  

After you register

After you register, you’ll receive a confirmation email with your receipt. Starting in May, you will receive a link to an information package. To complete the package and finalize your registration, you’ll need:

• A recent digital or digitized photo of you, from the shoulders up
• Consent forms signed by your parent or guardian
• A liability waiver signed by your parent or guardian

After you submit your information package

Once you complete and submit the information package, we will send you a confirmation email. In this email, you’ll find:

• Your course selection
• Accommodation details (if you choose the residence option)
• Information you need to book travel and plan your summer

If you choose the residence option, please note you should arrange to arrive the day before the start of your program and leave the day after your program ends.
