I would 100% recommend FGL to anyone interested in exploring potential areas of study and to those who want to see what university life is like here at UBC.

Student, UBC Future Global Leaders

What was the first thing you noticed about UBC Future Global Leaders when you arrived?

The monitors, instructors and participants were extremely kind and welcoming. The UBC campus also had a spectacular view and FGL offered various activities I could attend in the afternoon.

What motivated you to register for UBC Future Global Leaders, and why did you choose the Sauder Mini Business School?

I joined a FGL business program last year and loved the course and the campus. Sauder has always been my dream business school and when the opportunity to experience multiple Sauder courses arose, I signed up.

How does your experience in the mini school compare to high school life?

Compared to high school, mini schools have bigger class sizes and longer lectures, helping us adapt to university life. Additionally, the mini school offered multiple panels, networking events and field trips on campus where we could hear from professionals and experience business.

How have the Sauder Business Schools instructors impacted your experience?

All the instructors have provided me with valuable guidance and equipped me, along with others, with insights into the business world. They helped us navigate our passion for business, what field of business intrigues us and whether business is the major we want to pursue.

What has been the best part of UBC Future Global Leaders summer on-campus program?

The best part about FGL is interacting with peers; everyone comes from a diverse background and many flew to Canada for this program. It was nice hearing everyone’s stories and it was truly amazing how well I got to know so many people in two weeks' time. I have made many friends throughout the program and I will certainly cherish these friendships.

I would 100% recommend FGL to anyone interested in exploring potential areas of study and to those who want to see what university life is like here at UBC. Along the way, you’ll also meet amazing instructors and make memorable friendships!
