UBC Residence Package for Circuit Stream Students

This residence package is available only to students ages 15-18 enrolled in a Circuit Stream pre-university tech course delivered at the UBC Vancouver campus in partnership with UBC Extended Learning.

If you are 15 to 18 years old and enrolled in a Circuit Stream course delivered at the UBC Vancouver campus, you can choose to live in residence and experience university life at a top-tier Canadian university.

Stay in a single furnished residence room, join other pre-university students in the cafeteria, and enjoy recreation and attractions all minutes from your room. Live university life to the fullest while you make lasting friendships with students from across Canada and around the world!

The UBC Residence Package includes:

  • Accommodation in a UBC campus residence (single occupancy)
  • Breakfast, lunch and dinner (full board)
  • Afternoon, evening and weekend social activities
  • Weekend trips to Grouse Mountain, Granville Island and Robson Street (downtown Vancouver)
  • Free swimming at the UBC Aquatic Centre and drop-in sports at the UBC Student Rec Centre (e.g., badminton, basketball, volleyball)
  • Airport pick-up and drop-off services
  • Local medical insurance for international students
  • Custodianship for international students if required to obtain a visa
  • One live-in UBC student life staff person for every 10 students ensuring a fun and safe living environment

Circuit Stream students live in residence with other high school students enrolled in our flagship academic program, UBC Future Global Leaders. Roughly 250 UBC pre-university students live in residence each session.

UBC Residence Packages for Circuit Stream students are limited and available on a first come, first served basis.

Residence dates:

  • Session 1: Sunday, July 6 to Saturday, July 19, 2025
  • Session 2: Sunday, July 20 to Saturday, August 2, 2025
  • Session 3: Sunday, August 3 to Saturday, August 16, 2025

Students living in residence arrive the Sunday before the start of their courses and leave the Saturday after their courses end. Circuit Stream and UBC Future Global Leaders courses can be combined to make a 4 or 6-week program. For students living in residence for 4 or 6 weeks, room and board is included for the stay through weekend(s).

UBC Vancouver Campus

More than 400 hectares in size, the stunning campus is surrounded by forest on three sides and ocean on the fourth and is just a 30-minute ride to Vancouver's downtown core. The campus is located on the traditional territory of the Musqueam people.

Cost, cancellation and refunds

Fee: $2,675 for a 2-week all-inclusive UBC Residence Package

You must be between the ages of 15-18 and registered in a Circuit Stream course to purchase a UBC Residence Package. If you are under 15 or over 18 years of age or are not registered in a Circuit Stream course when you arrive in residence, your UBC Residence Package will be cancelled, and you will not receive a refund.

To cancel your UBC Residence Package, please submit written notice via email at least 30 days before the first day of the residence to be eligible for a refund (less $200CAD administration fee). We cannot offer refunds for cancellations received less than 30 days before the start of the residence.

If your study permit/visa has been denied, please email us a scanned copy of the original communication from the Canadian embassy, consulate or high commission before the start of the first class. We will refund you your fees, less a $50 administration fee.

If you’re unable to attend for medical reasons, please email us a scanned copy of original documentation explaining the medical reason before the start of the first class. We will refund you your fees, less a $50 administration fee.

A Family Account in UBC’s Lifelong Learning registration system is required to purchase the UBC Residence Package.

After you add the UBC Residence Package session to your cart and go to check out, you’re asked to create a new Family Account or log in if you already have a Family Account.

A parent or guardian needs to set up the Family Account with their primary email address. After the account is created, the parent/guardian adds the student as a family member to their Family Account using the student's primary email address (the student's email address cannot be the same as the parent/guardian email address).

Add the student to the UBC Residence Package session in your cart and complete the checkout process.

After completing the checkout process, and while logged into your Family Account, select New Application to access the Pre-University Information Package. Your registration is not final until the information package has been completed and submitted. You may partially complete the information package and return to it at any time within your Family Account.

If you are located in China or Russia, you will need a Virtual Private Network (VPN) to create a Family Account, register for a course, fill out the information package and complete payment. If you do not have a VPN or need assistance, please contact us.
